Susan Labuda Schrop, Ph.D., an associate professor of family and community medicine, is the assistant dean of curriculum, College of Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), and serves as the overall course director for M3 clerkships and co-course director for the M3 course Prerequisite to the Clinical Curriculum. Susan has her master’s degree from the University of Akron with a double major in education administration and exercise physiology, and her doctoral degree in the sociology of health and health care from Kent State University. She has served in many education, research, administrative and service capacities in her more than 35 years at NEOMED. Her research interests include patient-physician communication, literacy and health disparities. As part of her service to the community, Susan is a member of and secretary to the Board of Directors of the Ohio Association of Free Clinics and volunteers at the Faithful Servants Care Center in Tallmadge.

Jim Benedict, PT, PhD.
Jim Benedict, PT, PhD. is an assistant professor in the Physical Therapy Program at Youngstown State University. Jim earned his doctorate degree from Walden University in Public Policy and Administration of Health Services. He has a master’s degree from Kent State University in Rehabilitation Counseling and a bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University in Physical Therapy. Jim has been involved with the Midlothian Free Health Clinic, located in Youngstown, OH, since 2009 and currently serves as the President of the Board. He and fellow faculty and PT students from YSU created Penguin Physical Therapy, a Pro Bono PT clinic, located with the Midlothian Free Health Clinic.

Anne Kloos, PH.D, NSC, PT
As a faculty member in the Physical Therapy Division at the Ohio State University, Dr. Kloos teaches neuroscience and adult neurorehabilitation courses, conducts research, and provides physical therapy consultative services at the OSU Movement Disorders Clinic. She is a board-certified neurologic physical therapy specialist. She provides pro bono physical therapy services at free clinics and annually instructs a service learning course for physical and occupational therapy students to provide services to medically uninsured or underinsured individuals in Columbus, Ohio. When she’s not working she enjoys being out in nature either on a hike or bike ride.

Capri Cafaro served as the ranking member of both the Senate Medicaid Committee, the Joint Committee on Medicaid Oversight (JMOC) and the Senate Transportation, Commerce and Labor Committee. She was also the Vice Chair of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Higher Education and a member of the Senate Ways and Means, Agriculture, Energy/Natural Resources and the Joint Legislative Ethics (JLEC) Committees.
Cafaro graduated at age 19 from Stanford University with a degree in American Studies. She earned two master’s degrees: an MALS with a concentration in International Studies from Georgetown University, and a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in health and administration from The Ohio State University. Cafaro was previously an adjunct at Youngstown State University where she taught a course on U.S. social welfare policy in their MSW program.
